My username here, as well as other places around the Web is Em Mindelan, a combination of my nickname, Em, and Mindelan, which is the last name of a character from one of my favourite fantasy series. My real name is Emily, but my friends call me Em.
Contrary to many poster's beliefs, I am actually female. I live in one of the greatest cities in the world [IMO], Sydney, Australia, where it is not actually summer all year round. I have a younger sister and brother, and a dog, cat and a rabbit. Apart from posting here, I enjoy reading - primarily science-fiction and fantasy novels, but also political thrillers, Tom Clancy novels. My favourite science fiction authors include David Weber and Lois McMaster Bujold. I also like to ski, write, see movies with my friends and listen to music. At school, I enjoy English, History, Latin and Science.
My favourite forums here are Misc, DS9, General Trek, SF&F and QSF. I am the TrekTonight Investigator; wait until this week's episode of TrekTonight to see what I'm talking about, and I have a secret plan to take over the world, as do many of my other fellow Aussie posters; I'm also a member of both the Cartoon Monster's and Blooded's fan clubs. I was recently promoted to Fleet Captain and I have been registered here since April 8th, 2001. However, I have only been actively posting here since about halfway through May.
You'll often find me in Survivor threads of pretty much any sort, most threads started by fellow Aussies, especially those dealing with taking over the world and abolishing of democracy, and any Misc bar threads, as well as in the Flaptain's Lounge. My ship's name is the USS Indago - "Indago" basically means hunter in Latin, and she's a Defiant-class ship....with a Romulan cloaking device. No questions, please, on where I found the said cloaking device.
