Beginning in 1973, Elisabeth played the role of Sarah Jane Smith, a companion of the Doctor's in Doctor Who. As of the time I write this, she is the only classic series companion to have reprised the same character in the modern series. Since then, she has starred in her own spin-off, the Sarah Jane Adventures.
