DeForest Kelley

DeForest - born as Jackson DeForest Kelley - was one of the finest men to ever inhabit the state of California. Where the overwhelming majority of entertainers have "skeletons in their closets", DeForest had none of these. He was a loving and devoted husband, a kind and generous man, and a stunning example of a simple, moral individual. DeForest passed away on June 11, 1999 after a fight with stomach cancer, and was given a tribute at the Emmy Awards that year.

DeForest has had literally hundreds of roles in his years as an entertainer, but he will forever be known as Leonard H. "Bones" McCoy, to the millions of Trek fans worldwide. He starred in the original Star Trek alongside William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, Jimmy Doohan, Walter Koenig, Grace Lee Whitney, and Majel Barret.
