12/04/01, noon - Sunday, I did two cool things. First, I went to see the very yummy Hayden Christiansen in Life as a House. If you don't know who he is, you will soon ... He's the new Darth Vader. I'm not sure, but I think whoever wrote the script for Life worked for soap operas before he or she came to this project.

I'm not saying it's a bad script at all! Multiple plots are woven in an ever-tightening tapestry of the characters lives, but some things were just a wee bit over the top.

That said, the acting, directing, music, and cinematography in this movie are superb. The "soap" script transcends itself, and the whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts.

Afterwards, I stopped at Target and bought the new Mannheim Steamroller Christmas cd. It's their fifth, including the life album (recorded in 1997). Just as a side note, I was there in the audience when they recorded the album and video. It was incredible!

Quite frankly, my sound system rocks, and the first song on the new cd is breathtaking on it. As good as they normally sound, they are now ten times better!

Just a reminder - The Babylon 5 DVD comes out in less than two weeks!

I'm still waiting on the computer fix. Hopefully soon now. I'm just glad that I have an alternative.
